would not the 6-speed enable me to cruise on the highway at a lower RPM than 3500?
Yes slightly...but, IMO the amount of gas you will actually save wont justify the cost of the transmission...unless you drive it for ten years or more, and that's assuming you don't replace any parts which is inevitable i.e. clutch, ball joints etc...

oh yeah i wouldn't actually go and buy one now, but it would be preferred if it had come with a 6-speed

hey all...here is where we are at right now...things are going well. The SRT wiring harnesses and ECU have be installed routed the same way the R/T ones were..they were VERY similar so no problem installing there, just a simple take out and replace with SRT harness...the 5speed tranny and srt clutch bolted up to the engine perfectly and the motor is now installed in the car with race mpx motor mount inserts. im not too worried about the vibrations...ill get used to it...if its really a bother ill jsut take them out later... right now we are waiting on an order of parts from dodge
upper rad hose
new belt
heater hoses (damaged when blew motor)
little things like that
i think they came out to about $250...no too bad
the Realtune catless DP installed and bolted up perfectly with no problems

the next step is to drop the oil pan and do a little cleaning. after everything comes in and gets installed we can fire up the beast and see where we are at....thats all i got for now...will try to keep it updated more frequently...any questions please ask

Hrm. Didn't you suggest at some point you didn't have the SRT4 ECU yet?

You're going to want to get that or the engine might not even fire. There are a bunch out there selling their Stage 1 ECUs because of the upcoming RealTune MS1K flash.

Keep us posted.

so...here is the problem we have run into now.....it starts perfectly....UNTIL...the Imobilizer kicks in because the R/T key and imobilizer dont match the ECU....so the solution....basic setup i had before... use the N/A ECU and FIC to make the motor run properly...this means 125mph limiter (ugh) which is good for about an at best low 12s car with the right traction....but more HP potential right outa the gate....it is that or....buy a matching ECU,imobilizer and Keys from dodge ($2500 which is a NO at the moment) or piggy back the R/T ecu with the FIC which is what we are going to do....so i am basically going to have my R/T setup with an SRT4 block...lol...probably going to get the to tune it to 18psi if possible until i can afford either an SRT4 or those three things mentioned above....until then....NO MS1K for me :(.....thats what i got so far.....should be 100% done in the next week or so...gotta hook up and tune the FIC then we are good to go....

Would you be able to put in the srt4 ecu that you have in there, and take the vin from the srt4 that the ecu came from, and get a new ignition cylinder made, and a new key cut?

might not be that cheap, but i cant imagine that it would be the 2500 bucks

I probably could down the road...but right now I need my car...I leave for spring training.the 28th so I need a working running car in the next few weeks... never thought I would take this long...but it is what it is. It'll work this way so its the way I have to do it at the moment
