You are right...so here they are...Ill be taking updated pictures every 4-5 days or so hopfully.

those are all i have so far... they are changing dash harnesses engine harnesses and all wiring which involves stripping the car from the steering wheel forward...yes..dash is coming out as well ...but it will all be worth it when its done:Na_Na_Na_Na:

You are also going to need the 6 speed GETRAG gearbox & heavy duty clutch to go with it .Plus you will need SRT4 Front fenders & Hood & front SRT4 sub frames & floor extensions to accomodate the different position of this engine with its oil cooler, A/C condenser & intercooler.........easy!!

I will not, that has already been looked at. I already have tranny and i am using the intercooler i have which is better than the factory one...it is good for 600 hp. Well see about ac condensor when we get there, but it will look like an rt when.it is done

Big mis.conception about the srt4's is that the engine sits in the car differently, etc etc etc..

If you remove the srt4 bumper from an srt4, the ONLY difference is there is a longer bumper re-enforcement bar, and that's only to accommodate the intercooler.

As he is already running an intercooler, im sure that its going to work just fine.

It will be a bitch of a swap though.. I want to know how much of the wiring you are going to have to change..

Im sure the can-bus isnt going to like different parts strewn about

Thats the plan on down the road.gotta take it one step at a time...and as for money... it has gone way past resonable already so im just paying as i go and ill add it up later lol

damn... looks like lot of work
lol

sou you can clean the enginebay... ;)

#27 ·
hey, can u tell what you need for this project?
would you try to keep the cvt tranny with the srt engine?
- brakes
- harness

#29 · (Edited)
i do not have cvt tranny i have the 5 speed....CVT will NOT work...if you have the CVT you sould stick to basic bolt-ons... header, CAI, etc... anything else will pretty much be useless because the CVT will limit the power

I bought the engine off a guy on ****************....he wrecked his and I bought the engine, ECU & wiring harnesses, intake manifold & throttle body, exhaust manifold and turbo, SRT4 clutch, dash harness and gauge cluster for $2200...you can find a lot of Csrt4 motors around but its locating the esential wireing harnesses and everything you are going to need as well..I was lucky enough to find it in one package...its going to be a lot of work but it will work nonetheless on top of that Ill have the SRT gauge clutser with the tach in the middle as well

#36 ·
I allready have a srt4 all i want is another engine to wok on, don't need all the wiring and gauges.
oh...well in that case jsut search around on different forumz and search engines...that how I found one...ebay motors other srt forums etc...

damn nice idea!

****... thats alot of work so i'll better watch out for an srt...
:(

ok i have an 08 and have al the goodies with it for the evic. Some 08's didn't come with them though. The one way to tell if your cluster has the evic is between the very left gauge that has the temp and fuel and the tach will be a button like the one for the trip. So if you have 2 buttons on the cluester you have the evic. Here's a pic of mine for reference if ya want.

oh yes yes i read that thread on red forum... i would consider that an srt4 because only used the shell of the sxt...im just putting motor and clutch in on the 5 speed tranny...other than those and cluster...everything else will be R/T....gunna make it a sleeper R/T

#60 ·
Nope...going to see how the 5 spd does...bolts right up and srt clutch works with it also...gears r a little deeper in the 5 spd so im going to see how that holds and if i have to...get a 6 speed down the road
