Thats sooo nice!! Is that powder coated or just painted? Can that be done on 2.0 valve covers? iINFO PLEASE!!
I had all my covers painted through Eastway Chrysler in Canada. I'm sure you may be able to find a local painter that could do something for you.

hi all i have been busy modify`ing the k`n cai to make it better. i have dramatically increased the sheilding of heat from hot exhaust directly hiiting the filter and have added a snorkle to the top of filter bringing in cold air from front of car. the result of making a box with the kn and bringinging in more air is this: cuts out that droning sound if you give it a little gas from dead stop but gives more offline from stop power and power all over better! pics attached its still kinda crude experimental stage for testing but the concept of eliminating heat and bringing in more cold air is sound and works fantastic so far!

Not a bad idea you have there, I'm going to give something like that a shot in the future.

I just installed my mopar CAI but I accidently busted my clip for the o2 sensor so I have it jerry riiged for now till i get to the dealership for a new one, I like the tone of my CAI I like to hear the sweet tone it emits

save your money and remove the air inlet box above the battery and you will get better gas milage and performance for the cost of $0
I tried this by accident (installing stereo, had the air inlet off, needed to go to the store.. etc...) and my car seemed to run like crap. Bad enough for me to remember I had taken it off and turned around to put it back on before going to the store. But, I live in NC and it was around 102 degrees and plenty of humidity. Might work for you guys up north in that cool, dry air.

Maybe someone who has gone through the K&N install can help me out. I'm kind of stuck on step #19 of the instructions.

"Unhook the wiring harness from the corner valve cover bolt as shown."

How does this come off? Do I just pull it up? This thing is on there TIGHTand I can't seem to get it disconnected. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I had some trouble with that too. I think I ripped it off, it's not needed after the brace is on that bolt.

Man do I feel stupid. It screwed off but getting it to turn with that tie wrap like contraption was a pain! Anyway... I finally got my CAI installed and just took the car out for a spin. So far so good!! I LOVE THE NEW SOUND!! From other members posts I thought the noise was going to be uber loud but it's not. It sounds great!! :b1::b1::b1:

Ex, like you mentioned earlier about taking the battery out, I too eventually did this. I would recommend it for anyone that doesn't have small hands!

I'll be honest, the caliber normally is not quiet, but with the K&N it is quite loud. To each his own I guess, I'd rather it to be a tad bit more quiet.

I really don't mind it. I was out with my wife today and she didn't really mind the loudness. I do plan on getting the Magnaflow exhaust though so that'll help quiet it down.

I have it, and I like it!!

I ordered my Full K&N air intake. With shipping and tax it came out to 298 dollars.

Good luck with it!! the hardest part of the install for me was getting the air temp sensor back in.

Got it all installed and love it. It is alittle loud when you punch it . But I can live with it. Now what can I do next to the new car ?
Go with a catback exhaust to make the CAI breathe a little better.

The modification I've seen the best results from so far is the DC Sports Performance Header (they actually make the Mopar Header also, same exact thing). I definitely felt the difference after installing that. www.ultrarev.com use "sale" as the coupon code and it's around $262 (plus shipping to your area).
Also, I just found the Magnaflow Catback Exhaust for the Caliber (model#16759) on sale at www.wundercarparts.com for $276... enter "fall" in the coupon code thru 9/18/08 and get an additional 5% off, for a total of $262! That's a steal!
