Hi, I am new to the Caliber forums :Hey:, and I was just wondering where the location of the turn signal flasher is because I find that the factory one sounds obnoxious so I never want to use my signals. :shakehead:

So I'm just wondering where it is located so I can hopefully put in an aftermarket one if it's easy enough to access. :smiley_thumbs_up:

You're outa luck. The flasher operation is through the TIPM. The sound is produced inside the sealed portion of the dash pod.

Just did chat with www.superbrightleds.com and was informed that I can put a Load Resistor RL-650 @ the bulb. The resistor comes with instructions.
It's a known issue because of the TIPM. Resistor sometimes work, but not always. You'll get a better answer from this forum than seller who has no real knowledge of these cars. DIY for a fix that does work is in our Knowledge Base sub-forum.

The turn signal sound is computer generated and that sound goes to a tiny piezo speaker soldered on the cluster's circuit board.

Do any other sounds work; flashers, seatbelt reminder, lights on with car off, door open with key in ignition, any idiot light notifications (ding on low fuel)?

Have you disconnected the battery for ~10 minutes to "reset" the computer?

I don't think this is related to the AC or defroster, so we can tackle one issue at a time. 😎
