I just broke my Caliber trying to fix it, and I feel like crying!

So I just now attempted to replace one of my front lower control arms. I jacked the car up, managed to break free the end of the LCA that connects to the wheel/strut. I then thought it would be a bright idea to jack up on the disc (I did use a 2x4 between the disc and jack) to give myself more room to work with. In the process I ended up pulling out part of the CV joint on the end that connects to the transmission, and about a quart of tranny fluid (I think) ended up leaking out. Now from what I've read, my only option is to take the car to a dealership to get the tranny fluid replaced since it's a CVT-2 transmission. Are there no other garages (in Canada) that are equipped to replace CVT fluid? You'd think it would be a simple task, but I also thought that replacing an LCA would be simple as well. I'm now thinking that I just turned a $200 job into a $1000+ job if I have a garage replace the LCA's as well as the cost of having the vehicle towed. I'm really kicking myself in the ass now!

The service manual for the Caliber is available here on the forums...download a copy for yourself.

I want to say that there are drain & fill plugs on the transmission, which would allow you to refill the tranny fluid yourself. Verify this with the manual, but I believe you simply unscrew the fill plug, add fluid until it reaches the bottom of the fill drain plug hole, and you're good to go. Obviously, do this after you reinstall the CV axle. ;)
