Stutters under acceleration...

Hey guys I know there is lots of threads on power loss extra, but there is something specific I wanted to ask so started a new thread. Quick rundown of my issue...

About 6 months I go I had power loss under acceleration feels like the car drops in speed before picking up and so on with multiple error codes pointing towards an EGR issue hence I changed the EGR which weirdly didn't solve the issue (still error codes) continued to run the car for a few week and suddenly the issue stopped and I've had trouble free motoring until now.

As of a few days ago the exact same issue as above returned, lots of power loss and feels like the acceleration continuelly backs off when nearing 2k rpm and randomly after this point. Only things I've done recently is an oil change and also gone from long runs to many short runs. I've checked the EGR and doesn't look clogged in anyway but still EGR codes with the new one.

Now my question... I read somewhere that occasionally the Throttle Body can cause these symptoms as the valve turns half way when the EGR is active and maybe becomes stuck. I've given it a good clean and out of curiosity removed the cover to the gearing mechanism for the butterfly valve and when the lid popped off loads! and I mean Loads of oil spilled out both the cogs and the electronics inside the throttle body were soaked in what looks like engine oil.

Now surely they don't fill this chamber with oil for lubrication If not then could this be the problem, and If so can I just clean out all of this oil and find something to re-lube the cog teeth with?.

If I'm going down the wrong path for the above symptoms then feel free to point me in the right direction I just though the above to be really odd.

Welcome to the ForumZ.

There are only a few members here with CRD Calibers but I am sure
one will read your post and offer advice.
Hi! Well it seems my suspitions were unfounded as when putting everything back together after cleaning I noticed a tear down the back of the boost hose that connects into the throttle body so seems this is my issue.

So if anyone has error codes and power loss pointing towards EGR it may actually be worth checking the boost hose also as this brought up EgR codes for me.
Thanks for the tip - may be my symptom too. Can you post a pic.
Did you get a new hose and did that cure your problem?
I have the same problem, but no errors ... yet ... found a crack in the hose connecting to the throttle body with the EGR valve. Anyone knows the partno. of the hose? Can I replace it myself?
Possibly Alecs will have access to the part number for the CRD.
Don't even know which hose to be checking. Any photos of this issue now raised by half a dozen members ?

As for parts have to ask the FCA dealer. If it's part of the the engine package it should be available from disounted VW factors.
Used oceans of time researching. The Hose that connects into the inletvalve (and EGR valve) is called

04891705AC, 04891705AB, 04891705AA

I Just ordered one.

Should be ok to replace, found an internal link here

Enjoy :)

Photo is found here
Thx, how much is it?
I had no idea where it went to or how to remove it.
This is my suspect but how did you check it? Feel, mirror, disconnect from EGR.
Found it at Proauto EU for 70€ which was the cheapest since the shipping is free :D

Looked at the hoses yesterday, I think the description from scottish.srt is fine, I will update this thread when I have replaced mine.

When you step lightly on the gas pedal, it shudders and when stepping to the bottom it is slow to react and does not give full pressure on the turbo. While driving in the city I hear a whistle like a policecar :)
I just looked into the engine bay and saw a crack on 1-1,5 inches long and had air blowing in my face ... knew then it was the sinner.

Replaced the Intercooler Hose today.

This is a picture of the old Hose:
Auto part

Using scottish.srt's description, I pulled the clip out.
NB! Be sure it is entirely in its outer-position

Auto part Automotive fuel system Fuel line

I then removed the bottom shield and had free access to the lower part of the hose

Auto part Automotive wheel system Automotive tire Vehicle Wheel

I removed the bolt at the bottom and pulled the pipe up through the engine bay.

Controlled the parts:

Footwear Jeans Shoe
Pipe Auto part Synthetic rubber Metal
Pipe Auto part Exhaust manifold Muffler Automotive exhaust
Pipe Auto part Exhaust manifold Automotive exhaust Exhaust system

The sinner:

Tire Automotive tire Metal

Refitted the new hose at the top

Auto part Pipe Fuel line

then at the bottom

Auto part Pipe Rust Automotive exhaust Exhaust system

Replaced the covers and drove off.

Took me 1,5 hours and I did not hurry. Cost me 17£ at the local DIY workshop with a lift.

My car is driving normally again :D :D :D

If you can see the split then the dealer was the best place to pick one up.

I bought it on suspicion but when I dismantled my stock one was perfect so ended up taking it back.

I was about to suggest that you check the boost hose :)
