I've installed a amp and sub with my factory head unit. Anyone know the best place to connect the amp remote wire so that will shut off the amp when the stereo is turned off? I have it connected to the fuse box under the hood and will turn off when the car is off but want to control on/off of the amp with the stereo like any other radio. Any suggestions please.....

that doesnt sound like a real good idea to me.....

you could wire it to your cigarette lighter, some people say not to do this but I havent had any problems with interference or noise or anything, just my 2¢ :)

and welcome to the forumz BTW!!!

 Thanks for the help guys! I used and in-line converter for the music signal but that doesn't give me power to the amp. Guess I'll have to get an aftermarket stereo if I really want to turn off the amp from the stereo.

You can always use a toggle switch to cut the remote wire signal to your 12v switch accessory. It would go something like this:

Tap into the cigarette lighter source and wire to toggle. Remote wire from amp to other toggle. Flip toggle on or off.
