Relocating the PCM/ECM

374 Views 7 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Aleks
I noticed that my 2011-2.0L Express trim has the PCM/ECM mounted to the top of the air filter housing, which prevents any kind of CAI mods, but other years with same 2.0L engine has PCM/ECM mounted to side of strut tower/engine bay and the air filter house is mounted with clamps facing up, with CAI possibilities. Is there any way to relocate mine or any DIY mods I can do to install a CAI? Anybody’s suggestions and input would be appreciated. Thank you 🙏🏼.

The 'COLD' air intake is the one you have with the slot at the front of the hood.
The CAI (open filter) recycles the HOT air in the engine bay.

If that’s the case, I would like to get some better access to the factory tube going to the front of the hood. With the hood closed and latched fully, there’s only a small gap, but then there’s a weatherstrip before the air filter tube. So the air flow isn’t as good.

It does not alter the engine management. I put in the K&N which is as much as you can change.

Did you make that or buy it?
I do not condone nor make. I use t'interweb to show you rare instance of someone bothering to try something (for no effect as explained due to computer tuning).

I was going to ask what the actual numbers are with doing this.

I think I could light a $100 bill on fire and get the exact same results. 😎
CAI zero, the SRT guys try all sorts of internal baffles and chambers to isolate the cone from the engine (as if). The cones are for open bays or hood scoops.
K&N claim +1-2 hp for their lifetime filter that many members fitted.
