Has anyone in this forum installed a Parrot Asteroid Smart double din unit in their car? I'm seriously thinking of swapping out the stock radio and my uConnect kit with this. I'm an Android nerd and after reading up on this, it looks like it can be rooted now. You can also install Google Play and Google Music as well as Google Maps and Google Navigation. I'll just tether it to my phone for Internet on the go.

I'm wondering if anyone has run into any issues installing this in their Caliber. Also, if you have installed it, where did you run the GPS antenna and the mic?

I know this unit doesn't handle Sirius/XM or have a CD/DVD player, but it has 4 USB ports, one dedicated to iPod/iPhone/iPad, but the others for whatever you want, such as a USB hard drive packed with music, movies, etc.

It's 6.2" touch screen with navigation, handles hands-free through bluetooth for up to 10 devices simultaneously, plays movies, etc.

Any way, I was just curious about it and wanted to see what you guys thought. I tried searching the forum about this head unit, but didn't find anything.

I guess no one's installed one of these in a Caliber yet. Looks like when I get the money I'll have to post a guide and some videos of my install.

If anyone is interested, here's a great blog of a guy who shows how to root the device and get some other tweaks working: http://atomic-cactus.com/blog-2/
