I have a 2008 dodge caliber sxt, 4 cylinder, took it out one night to the store and parked it for the night, that night we had a little snow storm about a dusting to a inch, went to start the car to go to a Drs appointment and the lights came on on the dashboard but it didn't turn over, did the tap trick on the starter and no spark or anything, ordered a new starter put it in and still won't turn over dash lights come on and, change the battery and still nothing, any help would be awesome

Does the starter engage, but the motor won't start?

Or will the starter not do anything?

Is there a "click," but nothing? Or nothing at all?

Have you tried starting it with your second key?

The easiest way to get to the relay box is to remove the driver-side fender liner (the plastic piece above the tire, under the fender).

If I remember, it's three screws and five plastic push-clips.

*Ignore the bumper removal part (I didn't watch it all the way through).

**Easier to remove the tire, first, lol.

There are also two different types of relay boxes; mine have thin relays, while others may have the standard 30/40 amp square relays.

There are two clips that hold the box cover:

With my skinny relays, this one should be the one for the starter:

The battery in a remote fob is for the power locks.
The transponder uses Radio-frequency identification (RFID) electromagnetic fields. The SKREEM reader in the column is powered from the car battery.
The car will still start without the Transponder id but not continue to run.

If you have a new fully charged battery and starter, checked the relay, then you are still not receiving power so a short or disconnection in the wiring.

Have you tested the removed starter and battery? May confirm you had a different fault to begin with, or if the starter is seized something may not have been reconnected or blown.

Ok thanks I'll check that without removing the bumper, and I didn't watch the video either all the way through

The battery is fine 100% charge, I'm going to check the starter relay and hopefully that's the problem
