Mine does the same thing. I have to wait about 2 to 2 and half hours for it cool back down before I can go anywhere. I also noticed I go through coolant like crazy and my engine smokes a little on the backside of it. All I do is drive it to work and back and sometimes the store and back and that’s it. It gets me around town and that’s all I need it to do. Might want to check your thermostats. They’re located back under the air filter under the hood. You’ll have to take your battery and the battery stand out.

Please let me know if you figure out the problem for I have the same problem. Done everything I can think of changed fluid and both filters, added a external cooler. Really weird trans runs great, shifts properly and all gears work with no problems and there's no noise. Thing is it seems to run fine in winter and has problems in the summer. I would greatly appreciate it if you find the cause and pass it on to me.

Do you mean the original cooler ?

As you are still over heating does sound like a circulation issue, something crimped or blocked. Maybe a flush was required before new fluid.
