I would like advice on the way to check the transmission oil level on my 2008 caliber 1.8 fitted with a manual gearbox. looking down from the top of the engine compartment I can see two rubber plugs, one slightly higher than the other, does this mean with both plugs removed you can fill through the top one till it trickles out the lower hole? have come across something like this before where access to top up goes in an upper hole while keeping an eye on a lower hole for level. cheers.. :Racing:

Your best solution would be to go to our "manuals" section and use the link there to download a copy of the service manual. The manual would have the best information - no reason for "guesswork".

Please note one important fact:

Even though the transmission is manual, it requires Chrysler ATF+4 automatic transmission fluid for proper operation. (proper lubrication of the synchronizing clutches)
