Hello there, I bought my Caliber few days back, it is 2008 Caliber SXT - European Diesel version with VW 2.0 engine. I am facing a little problem with my low beams - they are not working. The seller claims there was a bigger service on the vehicle, so I think they did something with bulbs too. I tried to reset TIPM twice but without any changes. I also checked the fuse box and everything is OK here. Any suggestions how to fix this?
Thanks

(I also have problem with thermostat and acceleration jerking, I made an topic in another section of the forum, any help would appreciated, thanks!)

Good,
The Dodge Caliber 2.0 CRD Diesel with a Volkswagen engine, has a Bosch control unit. When a light bulb burns out and you don't change it, it turns it off for safety.
Si pones bombillas Led intermitentes tienes que poner resistencias de 50Hom.
To make it light up again there are two options.
Option 1 connect an OBD2 diagnostic machine and turn off the Fault.
Opción 2 desconectar la batería, poner el contacto en posición de precontacto y pulsar Freno y claxon para que se vacíen los condensadores de reserva de energía. Una vez descargado unos 5 segundos. Esperamos con la batería desconectada unos 20 minutos.
After 20 minutes or more, it doesn't matter, we reconnect the battery.
Very important when connecting the battery Do not put the key in the clausor to avoid damaging the control unit.

Regards.

Good,
Thermostat problem. Thermostat either works or doesn't work, it doesn't have more lol. If the car does not reach 90 degrees approx. Thermostat has stayed open. If it heats broken thermostat.
What problem do you have with acceleration?

Hello there, tried to make some another TIPM resets but without any changes. Tried to connect OBD diagnostics and TIPM had some fault codes about the headlights:
B1630 right low beam control circuit high
B162C left low beam control circuit high

I tried to delete these fault codes, but they are here again with another scanning.
I used Google to find a solution for these fault codes and I found that I should start with replacing the bulbs. In this European SXT version are the H4s and I do not know, how to get to them, because there is no space in the engine bay. I tried to search the forum but I can only find some hints about the US version. Does anyone know how to get to these damn bulbs? Thanks.
I tried to get to the both bulbs but with no success - I tried to lift up the fuse box on the driver's side but still had not enough space to get there, on the passenger side I tried to unscrew all the containers with fluids but still can not get there.

I suspect you'll need to remove the front fascia so you can unbolt the headlight assemblies from the car and get to the sockets that way. Removing the fascia isn't difficult at all actually.

OK, that is the process I was kinda afraid of, but I will check some videos and will get to it. Thanks

I changed my bulbs from the engine bay, it was little awkward but succesfull - my low beams are working again, even without any more TIPM resets.
Thanks guys for your help!
