This weekend I will be installing an external inline transmission cooler. I am hoping this will help cool down the tranny and eliminate the whine that occurs after an hours worth of driving.This is an easy DIY job and I have already removed the front bumper just wondering if I’m wasting my time.

When’s the last time you had the tranny fluid replaced?
[supposed to be every 60k miles]

CVT replaced by dealer at just under 70 k miles, fluid changed by dealer at 139k. Fluid is still at proper level.

I have a carton of milk in the fridge from three months ago - it's still at the same level...

I would fix the actual problem, not make adaptations to just band-aid it.

Follow up....seems the real problem was the factory trans cooler....once the trans was hot it was starving for fluid...193k and back to running sound.
