I Just Bought My Sxt 2.0 Today. I Love It, But When I Opened The Hood I Realized That There Was No Engine Cover On It. Can Any Let Me Know If They Have One Or Not. The Dealer Said Not All Clibers Come With The Engine Cover. Black Cover Ontop Of Your Engine That Says 1.4, 2.0, 2.4???????
The part number you need is 04891715AA thats for the cover which runs abut $41.00

If you dont have the little black fastners that part number is 04891771AA

That info was given many times in this thread since Feb 2007. Micro0177 has also been long gone as a member.;)

Just a quick tip for anyone ordering the studs for the engine cover, make sure you order the NEW part number, 04891847AA. If the dealership has the old part in stock, 04891771AA, kindly refuse it and ask for the newer part. The newer part is revised, and is a much better design. It is a solid piece, threaded the whole way down, unlike the older part, which had TWO very flimsy parts with thread on them, and stripped the first time you pulled the cover off. It is also an extra 7mm longer, making it 46mm, compared to 39mm of the old part, giving just a little extra clearance for the threads to lock in to the stud.

Hope this helps somebody.

Here are the pictures I took of the two different studs. The new style is on the left, older on the right.

You can see the one on the right has open slots, and the two flimsy thread grabbers inside.

You'll also notice the newer style also has a hex head so you can tighten them with an 11mm deep socket.

A good experience with the new part number. It's a bit taller just like in the picture and has full plastic coverage inside for the threads. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Made the telephone call at the dealer Monday morning to order 4. ( I had two that had gone bad and they were moving by themselves )

They were in Tuesday morning and I installed them yesterday. The new studs are much better indeed. I did bring the picture from ChiPPy's post and the part number just in case ... but all was fine.

# 04891847AA on the plastic bag was right
Price was 1.08$ CDN each, for a total of 4.32$ + taxes.

I recommend the new part if you have the old broken ones under your engine cover.

Enjoy, François

I had 2 of the support studs crack in the plastic part
so I took "heat shrink electrical tubing" of the right
size and covered them about 3 yrs ago and they are still
working.
Just a tip for DIY.

I've been looking on ebay and the like for a long time, almost since I bought the car last feb, for a 2.0 engine cover. Found a couple 1.8's and a ton of 2.4's but today I finally found a brand new 2.0 cover! For only $22! Can't wait to get it.

engine cover

I was told by my dealer that the 2.0 L engine should NOT have an engine cover and the dealership will NOT order one even if you want one. Must be a fire hazzard is the only thing I can think of why they won't order one. Which sucks 'cause I want one on my 2011 Mainstreet. They are available aftermarket though.

Your dealer is STUPID and pulling your chain. I would not value anything that comes out of their mouths.
