Recorder at 70mph, second passes on inside lane at 94mph (in a 40)

The city of Milford has settled for $2.5M with the family of David Servin, one of the victims.

The officer who killed the kids, Jason Anderson, was apparently “racing” the officer whose car recorded the video, one Richard Pisani. Pisani is traveling at about 74 mph during one part of the video. In a marked 40. Officer Pisani was not disciplined for his conduct.

A modest amount of steering to the left would have saved the lives of Ashlie Krakowski and David Servin. Instead, Anderson simply drives right into the Mazda, with his car’s “black box” recording 100% accelerator pressure up to the crash. He was flat-out to the very end.

NHTSA states that over 3,000 people have died in police chases during the past decade. In 2001, for example, 365 people were killed, including 140 who were in no way involved with the chase.
