Hi thanks for reading. I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT. The cold snap we got cracked my radiator so I replaced it but now I'm getting a large evap leak code P0455. Did I do something wrong? I had it scanned and reset the code and it came back after a few days. I did have to detach the metal cooling lines but I think that is transmission isn't it? I'm not sure what I could have done wrong or what would cause that code. If you know please let me know

P0455 is a fuel system issue.

It could be a coincidence that something happened at the same time as your radiator, or something else was damaged during the repair.

First thing I'd check is the fuel cap - unscrew it, wipe off the rubber gasket and the top tube where it seals, to make sure nothing is letting air/vapour in/out.

Reset the codes. If the problem pops up again, we can continue troubleshooting.

EVAP codes have nothing to do with your radiator...that's the system that manages the fuel vapors that naturally occur as the gasoline in your tank expands and contracts with temperature changes. The only part of the EVAP system that's in the engine compartment is the purge valve, which draws in fuel vapors from the gas tank so they can be burned in the engine.

Like 672 said clean off the area of your gas cap and see if that helps. Chryslers are quite sensitive when it comes to the EVAP system and even a tiny pressure leak at the gas cap will set a code. If that doesn't help the usual way for a shop to test the EVAP system is to stick a smoke machine in it and see where the smoke leaks out.
