Some of the commercials from Venezuela, say "Hecho en Venezuela" which means Made in Venezuela though the Caliber was never built in Venezuela.

Almost all cars sold in Venezuela are made (assembled) in Venezuela (from CKD).

In 1963 Venezuela barred all imports of finished cars; resulting in eleven producers opening assembly plants in Venezuela, where they competed for an annual market then of only 28,000 cars.

July 1957 - Chrysler Corporation purchases Ensamblaje Venezolana which becomes Chrysler de Venezuela S.A.

Chrysler de Venezuela S.A, assembled and sold product of Chrysler (Simca, Humber, Hillman, Singer, Comet, Fargo trucks, Dodge Trucks, Dodge, DeSoto, Imperial, Chrysler, Plymouth, Valiant) since 1957.

The Dodge Brisa is a Hyundai Accent, assembled by Mitsubishi in Venezuela, and sold under a Dodge badge for about 8-9000 US dollars. Brisa means Breeze in Spanish.
1998 Carabobo Assembly Plant (Valencia, Venezuela) -- 100% ownership; assemble Neon, Grand Cherokee and Cherokee.

Valencia, Venezuela: Chrysler's only pre-change plant was created in 1965, and currently builds the Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Neon. It built about 7,000 vehicles per year until 1997, when production went up to 19,000 due to a $50 million upgrade; Chrysler plan to build 24,000 vehicles there in 1998. Plant capacity is 19,000 per shift, with 903 employees. The 1996 upgrade included a new paint system, spatial expansion, and a new waste water treatment system.
