Just got back from my dealer. Told me i have severe wear on my front lower contol arms and balljoints. Want to charge me 714.95. To repair this would include an front end alignment. I want to take a trip to mobile, alabama from cleveland,ohio. In three weeks. He would not give me a straight answer if the car would make it.
I have a dodge caliber 2007 sxt.
I have 53,000 miles on the car.
Should i just chance it since it is mostly highway miles?

Why chance it - you will need to do the repair anyway ?

I probably wouldn’t chance it. Or at least get a second opinion maybe a third or fourth. But I’m in Quincy, IL pretty sure you will be driving thru STL need any help give me a call haha.

Don't get it done at the dealer. When you're out of warranty, big ticket repairs are cheaper and better done at an independent shop. You can probably save $200-300.

And highway miles on a suspension are some of the hardest.
