I'm thinking about the Boston Acoustics factory amp, and helping get more out of the door and dash speakers.

Will disconnecting the drop-down speaker unit help improve the power being sent to the remaining six? I'm thinking that as this is a "twisted pair" wired system, that removing them from the system should not be a problem?

Cheers!

What is the internal amp in your head unit wired to? It's 28w Rms x4 good little amp. I still have it on my rear speakers and my dash tweeters.

I removed my drop-down assembly completely.

The sound in the car seems better, but I don't notice any difference in power.

I also [temporarily] removed my rattling subwoofer, which looks like it has its amp attached. The sound is worse with that removed, and the whole system is noticeably less loud without that sub.
