My 2009 SXT 1.8L Caliber (58,000mi) is experiencing intermittent engine stalling issues;

• Accelerating to highways speeds (usually on highway on-ramp)
• At highway speeds (60-70 MPH) attempting to accelerate more.

Once the engine stalls, if I press on the gas, my car will decelerate.

I will end up pulling over and I am able to restart the engine without waiting and usually am able to continue without another stalling incident.

The "Check Engine" light has only come on once, and it was up and gone in less than a few seconds.

I have taken it to a dealer twice for service - they have;

• Replaced battery and battery cables
• Replace Air filter and PCV
• Replace ignition plugs
• Update Software

Second trip to dealer;

• Replace fuel pump and connector

Car stalled again on highway trying to get to 65 from ~50 MPH.

Any ideas?

I have a 2007 Caliber. Having the exact same problem. Started less than 2 weeks after I bought it. Dealer refused to take it back. Took it in 3 tines to get it fixed.... still having same issue. Feel trapped by the car. Can't go anywhere out of town for fear of being stranded with my children or grandson. Can't drive around town too much will still stall. PLEASE HELP! NO ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM.
