Question Guage cluster digital (odometer and xmsn indicator) do not light

    Hi all,
I have an issue that I haven't found on the web.
My digital readout in my cluster is no longer showing. I have checked the fuses and have tried resetting the
TIPM. The digital came on one morning long after I reset the TIPM, but went out a few minutes later. I have also checked the cluster by holding in the trip meter button and turning the key to run. All of the gauges cycle but the digital items don't light. I can do the same on my 98 Cherokee and the odometer does a digital count down. Any ideas as I need to get my Caliber inspected and the mileage documented?

Could very well be a fault with the cluster module itself...they're all computerized (including operation of the gauges) so if the gauges themselves work but the display doesn't, the display circuitry has probably failed in some way. Do keep in mind that IIRC the gauge cluster is one of the controllers in the CANBUS network so I suspect replacing it will require some sort of reprogramming with a dealer scan tool for it to work correctly.
