Cool where to place rear view camera

Ive been looking for the best location for a rearview camera but im stuck. Ideally i want it as centered as possible. problem is right above the plate is the latch. and next to that are the plate lights. I was also thinking under the lip on the top near the brake light, but i read that it may interfier with vision. anyone got something that looks super sexy and clean?

Depends what you want to do with it.

Mine is for tailgating and insurance so it is tucked up under the spoiler next to the brake light.
It is tiny stuck to the screen does not obstruct the rear view and not watched while driving.

If however if it is for reversing and parking watched on a dash unit larger screen then there is a purpose made camera plate light replacement unit available for the CALIBER about $10. Very discrete.
replaced - hub bolts, warped rotors, 3 batteries, 2 screens, 12 alloy wheels, seat cover, armrest, Track-rod ends, clutch master cylinder, LH tail unit, LCAs, rear toe link,

Personally i think some of the plate kits look a little cheesy. I dont really need it for reversing but I never really thought of the intent. I guess my first and overall goal is to have a fun, clean looking vehicle. I will be switching to a 2 din unit when i do install the camera, so i will have a big screen. Im leaning towards a kenwood excellion, and i prefer to use the same brand in any of my installs. Doesnt necessarily have to be kenwood tho. But I saw the kenwood camera and it looks nice.

Do you ever run into any glare from your brake light? I was thinking thats a great spot as well, and im sure the plastic will be easier to work with

To be clear mine is a complete unit just stuck to the screen with a pad, no plastic.

As to looks for a license plate system it is virtually invisible, you would really need to know what you were looking at.

From next year Reversing Cameras are standard on new cars.
This light camera is fairly new.

Mine is an old cheap VGA free add on to my windscreen camera so stuck it on.
It is 'used' permanently on a 16GB loop. The only time I would review it is for an incident.
Quality and 2.5" screen size of mine are too poor for in car use.

New reversing cameras are HD and screens are 7+".
