My son has just bought a 2007 caliber 2.0 auto and the gas cap warning is on, i hooked my old centech #94168 scanner up and it wont connect will show error, i hook it to my blazer and it works fine is there some rediculously easy reason for this? am i holding it wrong, facing the wrong direction, too early in the morning?

Your scanner may not be compatible with a Mopar? IDK. Take it to autozone, o'reilly or advance and see if they'll run codes on it for you. It's free.

Me sure you install resistors inline with the LED's.

It's possible your wiring may be worn behind the battery tray on the drivers side.

I had this issue, would read some codes sometimes but wouldn't delete. Solved it by fixing the wiring that was chafed.
