Well, I am not new anymore to this forum, so, I?ll put this thread of mine into general discussions site. But my question is, what feelings you had, when you got your Caliber from the shop. As I got mine finally yesterday, but I still don't feel myself so excited, as I thouht, I'll be. But I have to be, as:
1)this is my first brand new car, bought from shop. So far I have been buying only used cars
2) I like it very much, how it looks, rides, smells, plays music...:jok:
3) everyone, who has seen it it, has been given only superb comments :sla:
So my problem must be - I am just a cold, heartless man. Or I have simply too long wires - emotions will probably come sometimes next week.
Sorry for my weird english - I am estonian:gy:

Hi Aika...I bought my Caliber because of the CVT & it has made me very happy! However, I've never paid over $4700 for cars. So $14,000 for my Caliber took me by storm. My featherfooting ways give my Caliber 35MPG on the road, as compared to my reliable econoboxes' 50+MPG(truly am a small car person). So two big hits in the pocketbook have blunted my Caliber pleasure. So I am looking for further pleasures in my Caliber to help. My wife loves the Caliber, so that makes me very happy. I am glad to buy an American car again, so hope its reliablility will be good like my econoboxes. Being a musician I love the standard sound system. Doesn't have the power of the Musicgate, but the sound is very detailed & clean for my classical & my wife's country music. The 6 by 9 inch speakers give very tight & quality bass. Love the illuminated cup holders. The A/C will be a relief for my wife on the few truly hot days here in Washington State. & I must say, people don't tailgate me in my Caliber as much as they did in my econoboxes. Now, if I can get an inexpensive two tone on my Caliber..... Grace & peace to you, Aika...litesong

Yo litesong,
your thoughts are actually very similar to mine, as I have been torturing my family and neighbours with electric guitars for 20 years, so, I am some kind of musician also. At least, I love music and the quality of sound is for sure important to me. That's what Caliber offers without adding extra amplifiers and stuff. Off course, putting some subwoofers and expensive amplifiers will make this car a moving concert hall. Maybe I still add some in the future, but not now, as I have to buy winter wheels next week and their measure 17 does not make wheels cheap. I am going to buy Continentals with nails, as our winter lasts half a year and the rest of the year the skiing conditions were simply not so good any more.
But back to emotions - I have never been a carmaniac as all other things in life have been more important to me, but as this is my first brand new car - I feel good. I knew that I would...
One more thing - here are the CD-s, which I listening in my Caliber this week:
John Mayer - Continuum; Jonny Lang - Lie To Me; Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Trouble Is; Robben Ford - Keep On Running; Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists.
Why not to start a thread - what music do people listen on a road. That will be interesting to know, but for sure everyone has his own taste. But maybe there still are some tunes, that fit well to listen while you ride.

well.. I am not to sure of my emotions just yet.. here is the skinny. I have had my VW Cabriolet for 15 years.. bought it brand new and LOOOOOVED and baby'd this car.. in MINT condition. I have a new baby and my husband REALLY wanted me to have new car.. (4 door, more room etc..) problem being I hate everything out there. We went to the car show back in Feb and pretty much decided I was going to get another VW UNTIL I saw this Caliber.. caught my eye instantly. Listed my VW on Craigs List and I sold it in less than a day.. got more than I asked for it. And the buyer is willing to wait until I get my Caliber. I feel so sad that the Cabriolet is going.. but everyone tells me that once I get my new car I will forget all about it. Besides I need a safer car for me and my son. Now my only question is.. will I have this Caliber for 15 years??? I have never owned and American car.. my husband has a Ford Explorer and it has been alright. I just hope I will not regret it. Keep you all posted when my Caliber comes in. Hopefully next week.
