The roads around here are not the greatest, so i'm wondering if anyone is experiencing ocassional "rattles" in the back of there car? Wondering about swing down speaker, or anything that could be causing it. Would like to be able to find a remedy. Like i say, the roads are not the greatest but i still think the car should be tight enough.

Check the spare and jack. They could be loose.

I'm going through the same thing, checked everything from the cargo cover to spare and jack. I even rode in the backseat while a friend drove and came to the conclusion its from where the upper and lower panels meet in the hatch. For the time being, I seemed to have quieted it down with some 1/2 foam on the cargo floor.

i better check this out, i know i've noticed some sort of noise i guess rattling or something from the back. i haven't really checked it out during city driving though... i think it's only when i go faster. but i guess if someone without the musicgate is hearing this then it might not be that?

Have definitely cured the biggest part of the issue, the hatch itself had to be tightened (aka the whole back of the car that opens up). It only took a very minor adjustment but it worked. Now the guys at Miramichi Chrysler are also installing some small pieces of foam at the very back of the cargo floor where it opens up. Everything should be smooth sailing from here on out, just wish the roads would get a little better. Definitely wasn't a major issue but i was worried about hurting something in the car that could turn in to a more serious problem!!

I'm just over 4000 kms and my foot is getting a little heavier all the time, wooohoooo!!! The best part is, the car seems to enjoy it too!!!

Thanks for posting, I've been looking at the hatch lately, it looked like there was some slack to it, almost as if it wasn't closed properly. Gives me something to look at.

Two more things to check if having "rattles" - in the back there are side panels, tap around with your finger and see if it sounds familiar. Also, if u have the music gate, the speaker itself is most likely fine. However, let it hang down and then look up under it. You will see some screws that may need to be tightened that are actually part of the inside of the hatch. Had to tighten the screws on mine. I am kind of a nut when it comes to uneccesary noise so i pretty much went through every part in the back. Happy to say, completely rattle free now. YYaaaayyyyyyyy!!!

the dealer was real proud of themselvs, they moved around the spare tire :i_rolleyes: replaced the spare cover ir the rear floor board and put a bunch ofdouble sided tape down and guess what???....................Same rattle still there. Also the buzzing in the d/s door is acording to them the dash by the drivers side vent. Theu are basicly going to replace the top and bottem part of the dash. I didnt even go back into the rear rattle.:(

I just got my Caliber and noticed there is already foam pading under the spare tire in the cargo space. The word must of got out to the dealerships. No rattles though.

Check your rear license plate for rattles.

I just put a different frame on my SXT and it immediately started to rattle. I got some small felt pad strips from Ace hardware and put under the license and they took care of it.

Hi all, adding this info just in case it is part of the rattle problem:
Had to replace the passenger side shock on my hatch, after looking more closely it was obvious that it was actually broken and loose at the top. Could cause a rattle for some!!

Turn your speakers up, watch your rearview mirror rattle instead!

I have a very annoying rattle coming from the center console(the one between the seats). From the driver's seat it sounds like its coming from the passenger door but when you sit on the other side you can tell its coming from the center piece.

Thinking it might be the parking brake cable.

well i have the sam anoyying as hell rattle at speeds over 65-70 which is all i do on the highway. I took apart the armrest and searched and serched. could figure it out i tried the emerg brake cable even added some foam in the area to see if it would dampen it !! Nope

Looks like this is going to be a short term ownership, I hate noises !!

i've been in to my dealer to fix my speaker for like 4 times and they haven't fixed it. but they're putting the blame on me. oh why do you have your bass up? that's why it's shaking.... okay there buddy. i'm so sick of going in since i don't have the time to do so. i need my car everyday. if somebody finds the solution to this rattling problem, and this rattling from the speaker, that would be great. i just hope that they would send this information out to all the dealers so mine can fix it.
