Hello !
I was reading the thread " Caliber Idol" and a question came up to me ...
... DO YOU SMOKE WHILE DRIVING YOUR CAR ?

Because, I must explain that, I always used to smoke (and sing :D ...) when driving my previous car (an old Mitsubishi Pajero)

But the day I took my Caliber from the dealer I took an oath :
"ABSOLUTLY NO SMOKING ON CALIBER" !!!
So I never smoked on it, and more ... I stopped smoking at all !!!
Today it's 3 week that I don't smoke (note: I used to smoke 20-22 cigaretters for day ...! :shy:)
I'm a little nervous now :naughty: but I'm happy and I feel better !

Thanks (also) to my Caliber  !!!

I promise you that you'll feel a lot better and be in better health by quitting smoking. I'm not a smoker, and never have been, but I do know that a woman that doesn't smoke smells a lot more attractive than one that does. You'll probably get asked out on a lot more dates now, so go ahead and get a can of pepper spray. LOL I'm very proud of you for your progress and am sure you will get a lot of support from other members. And if you ever go to sell it, a non smokers car sells better too.

Your words will help me with my "mission"

I don't think my car has ever seen any smoke, I can't recall whether or not my father got into my car with a cigarette when it was new. Even if he did, it hasn't seen any smoke since then, and never will.

LOL funny. Love those guys. But no, we do not smoke at all. And those who do smoke well, they will just have to deal with our rules or get their own ride ;)

One from the dark side, we do, for that matter, made ghetto ashtrays that hang from the air vents (cupholder ashtrays suck)

Yep that is right we don't smoke in Pixie and I do not allow it. iFaeryKat's heart problem is the main reason. It does seam though that in Pixies past life as a rental someone smoked in her at least once because there is one very small burn hole in the back seat.

not necessarily, tho likely... there's actually been a few cases ive heard of where ashed cigarettes from other cars enter your vehicle through a funny draft. at least one insurance claim like that as well.

I try not to smoke in my car. Sometimes I do. But I do question myself before I light up as to whether or not I can wait until I get to where I'm going to smoke. I usually only smoke in my car if I'm running late for work or if I am on vacation (so we don't have to stop so many times).

I stopped smoking in all cars around 15 years ago. It started with my last ex-wife. She used her sisters van for a day once. She had the cherry (fire) fall off of her cigarette while she was driving and burned a small hole in the seat. It cost me around $80 to have it fixed,15 years ago. Since then, i don't smoke in anyones car, even if they are smoking and tell me it's o. k. to smoke in their car.

Yeah!! I smoke in the car all the time, but sometimes to appear less conspicuous i'll use my colour keyed blue bong.

No one ever will smoke in my car period. I'm a non-smoker and I don't want any burn marks or smoke smell or residue in the car. I opted to even save a bit when buying the car by not getting the smokers package.

I'm so proud of you Licia. I'm going to try to stop smoking soon. At almost $40.00 a carton, it's just too much money. I don't smoke in my Caliber and don't let anyone else smoke in my Caliber and seat belts must be used by everyone also. I also don't smoke in other peoples cars even if they smoke in their cars. I don't want to be accused of a burn hole or something like that LOL!!!

Thanks David! I'm proud of myself too ! I didn't though I would had resist so many time without smoking LOL

Here Philip Morris (the brand I used to smoke) is 43,010€ a carton ... 4,30 € a pack ... I used to smoke 1 pack a day so 4,30 € a day x 30 days = 129,00 € a month saved ... - 35,00 € a month for the gym ( I need to go to the gym otherwise wiyhout smoking I certainly fatten up ... LOL) = 94,00 € a month that I can invest on my Caliber !!! :)

My health, my wallet and my car benefit from that!

why yes i do, as long as i clean it regularly i dont stink it up. it's not like this is a show car or anything- it's my DD
still got that new car smell, too!

dnarud13
04-21-2009, 06:35 PM
Yes, it's not cool ... I just like it. About 10 a day for the last 10 years. Though I hate the smell, so I adjust the ventilation precisely (sp? had a beer ... so I'm buzzed right now ... ya, I know, I'm a lightweight ... what do you expect when a sixpack lasts me the same # of weeks?).

... oh ya ... ventilation -

To maximize airflow, hence smoke, out of the car (to minimize stink). I turn the vent on high to the floor and crack my window about 1/2 inch. I keep the cig within 12" of the window and all the smoke goes out so I don't crap up my baby.

If others don't want me to smoke around them, I don't. It's more of a hobby then anything.

Licia, you should take a drive or trip to spain where you will find that a pac of ciggies will cost you €2.50.. we pay around £5.90/$11.40 for a pack of 20..
yes i still smoke in my caliber and i know i shouldn't but i don't allow anybody else to do so..
