View Full Version : Throttle Response Reprogramming Poll

Prop1
07-16-2008, 04:20 PM
It was suggested by Peter Snaith to do a poll regarding the Knowledge Base thread on reprogramming the throttle response. Most people that have done it have had at least some improvement, some have had a huge improvement, and a few have experienced no change. Let's see if we have a pattern. In case you've missed the thread, here it is: http://www.caliberforumz.com/showthread.php?t=14197

That is weird. I can see it now but when I posted earlier I did not see it.

I put in no difference, but quite frankly, I'm just suspicious that the small and marginal difference I have perceived might just have been the placebo effect.

On acceleration issues, however, I have other observations I've been doing lately.

I might be able to confirm this tomorrow night. I have a couple more tests to make.

If anything, this procedure *might* have just helped me when I use AutoStick. That's when the car behavior is most palpable.

I have seen a big difference in gas mileage and performance. 1.8 manual

i dunno if i would call it a big difference, but it is significant.... my revs dropped a few hundred across the board.

how many times are you ment to do this??

Everytime you drive, or just once and it helps...?

It's easy and it's free.
Why NOT do it?
What's the worst that could happen? Nothing.
What's the best that can happen? Your car runs better, drives better, gets better mileage.
Is ether going to hurt the car? Don't think so.
Try it, don't cost nothin'!

I noticed a slight difference it did help with off the line acceleration for me.

I can now pass and flip people off for driving so damn slow where as before Id have to put both hands on the steering wheel and hope I pass in time before the oncoming truck hits me. Theres those freaks that like to be slow but the min you go to pass they hit the gas pedal.. those are the ones Im tawkin bout!

Ok So i DONT really flip people off, I just kinda glare and wonder why they are doing 45 in a 55mph zone. Then later on I see how much further they got since I had passed them. lol

I am a more conservative driver now since gas is so high. I drive slower and at the speed limit. I take my time getting up to speed. I keep an eye on my scan gauge II and see how many MPGs I am getting by driving this way. I love looking at it and seeing mid 30's and 40's on the gauge it makes it all worth driving slower.:b1:

It's a one time thing.
It might take a few times of doing it to get it right if you are not right on the first time. I had to do it again to mine after I instauled the Header and Magnaflow exhaust today. It was kinda doggish, but now seems to be running alot better.

That probably had more to do with your sensors re-adjusting to your new mods, but it doesn't hurt to try it again.;)

I voted it was a small difference, but the small difference can be significant in the end. I am able to accelerate smoothly when the car is in motion at low speeds, such as going around tight corners, the car no longer "lags" when applying pressure to the pedal.

The difference is small, but the end result is HUGE when it comes to my appreciation for the car.

I agree wholly with Wood0209 same exact results for me.

I'm a dough head, I thought we were talking the computer reprogramming at the dealer. Possible to take out my vote? I haven't tried this yet.

What was your vote? I'll remove it. I wish the poll was set up to view what each member voted, I think there is an option for that.;)

The poll could be set as a public poll and it would show who voted but I do not think it will be retroactive.

I just checked we can not make it a public once the voting has started.

I didn't feel it was necessary at the time. That info isn't pertinent to the resulting outcome of the poll. Even now because a voter made a mistake, it's not pertinent, we just need to know what the vote was, and remove it. ;)

I always like to see where the votes go, and who voted where, just a good source of info.

Maybe it just seemed this way to me, but when I was reading through the original how-to thread, it seemed that more 2007s had success than 2008s, maybe that's something that could be incorporated into this poll?

I had a 2007 R/T and it had no effect whatsoever. So, it's not year related.

There is no poll option for 2.0 manual.

Anyway for an 07 CRD 2.0 5 speed it made no difference.
