So I get out to the car this morning and my clutch pedal went straight to the floor. Tried to start it and it immediately went backwards (it was left in reverse). At 140,000 miles, I need a clutch. I work next to a Dodge dealer but that's 30 miles away. Looking for suggestions to free the clutch so I can get to work (and the Dodge dealer). Any ideas?
The clutch in our Calibers is hydraulic...you may have suffered a failure in the hydraulic system. I personally wouldn't try to band-aid a fix to get it to a mechanic, as it could fail again in traffic and leave you in a mess. Best to have it towed I think.
I pulled the battery and getting the air box off. I was going to try to replace the slave cylinder. I just wish there was a better description or a YouTube video to cover this. :-/
yeah just give the air box a good heave upward, just pegged into rubber sockets...
I got my slave cylinder done recently and it was an internal slave so the whole gearbox had to come out :/
I am in the UK though so maybe different.
