I just received a postcard from Chrysler offering me $500.00 additional trade-in allowance if I trade my Caliber in on a new Chrysler vehicle.
Further to this, they are offering $500.00 more since I have the lifetime powertrain warranty. Sound like they are trying to buy out holders of the lifetime powertrain warranty, wonder why?
Also maybe an attempt to end their "obligation" to a discontinued model.
I wouldn't be surprised if they offered a direct cash buyout in a couple of years.
Yes I believe it was only for original owners of '08 and '09 models. Lifetime is kind of "open ended". In some cases Chrysler could be obligated to do expensive repairs on a car that is ten or more years old. Guess they don't want to be left "holding the bag".
