I Just Bought My Sxt 2.0 Today. I Love It, But When I Opened The Hood I Realized That There Was No Engine Cover On It. Can Any Let Me Know If They Have One Or Not. The Dealer Said Not All Clibers Come With The Engine Cover. Black Cover Ontop Of Your Engine That Says 1.4, 2.0, 2.4???????
I had 2 of the support studs crack in the plastic part
so I took "heat shrink electrical tubing" of the right
size and covered them about 3 yrs ago and they are still
working.
Just a tip for DIY.
My engine cover rattles when the car idles in D. The noise goes away if I take the engine cover off so I’m pretty sure the cover or mounts themselves are the problem. I think I might have to order 4 of the newer mounts.
I've been looking on ebay and the like for a long time, almost since I bought the car last feb, for a 2.0 engine cover. Found a couple 1.8's and a ton of 2.4's but today I finally found a brand new 2.0 cover! For only $22! Can't wait to get it.
If anybody did have one for sale they would be selling in our Dodge Caliber & SRT4 - Buy - Sell - Trade forum section. 99% of people are wanting to buy. Auto salvage, or ebay are your best bet.
I was told by my dealer that the 2.0 L engine should NOT have an engine cover and the dealership will NOT order one even if you want one. Must be a fire hazzard is the only thing I can think of why they won't order one. Which sucks 'cause I want one on my 2011 Mainstreet. They are available aftermarket though.

Mine has a cover as well. I think you just got shortchanged. I doubt highly that they're not standard equipment on all models. If in doubt, write Dodge and ask...
Posting a new image comparing the new and old engine cover stud for visual reference since the images from older threads can no longer be viewed.
New stud can be tightened with 11mm or 7/16" wrench. It's plastic so don't over-tighten it, finger tight should be more than sufficient.
Didn't want to deal with any dealership so I was very skeptical when ordering the part since I wasn't sure if I had to order each studs or not.
Aliexpress was the cheapest (around $12 CAD inc. shipping) so I took the gamble and luckly the package I received contained 4 studs.
Also, if anyone doesn't want to spend extra money for the new studs, try wrapping the bolt with heat shrinking tube and then glue the stud in place.
Your results may vary but I was able to keep 3 studs securely in place whenever the engine cover was removed.
