Good evening Dave, yes, we've been hammered quite much in the military that when we try to heat up our body inside the trucks in the field we have to crack the windows open at least 2 cm to avoid accident with monoxide. They have shown us videos of soldiers almost died on exercises because a small wind was putting back the exhaust fumes through the ventilation. People get sleepy and get headaches, this is quite dangerous. We have lots of members with young children, and if they leave them in the car with the engine running that could bring disaster. I think some desperate people kill themselves with car exhausts in garages. That proves that odorless monoxide is dangerous. !

oh ... lol i did not push the correct radio button again for the reply ... lol here is it. argh.
ah! good hunch in my brain ... i have all those physics, pressure, bar, etc comming back in my brain from time to time. Sometime by looking at a mechanical object i try to see how the air pressure etc ... moves in it. The interference was the image that was suggesting my thinking. I remember my early teanagers ears asking my father with the "bars" rating inside the Turbo that where competitioning in the Montreal Grand Prix. Incredible how tings has been pushed forward. Today, some of the Formula Ones where shifting @ 18 000 of rmps. Talk about a properly match header !!! lol

Roger on that. I physically see that Jared's header has one pipe per cylinder that goes well forward to the exaust. An educated guess suggest my brain that when one pushes out, he's not interfering with the other 3. I would like to try that. I will study it for a couple of days and maybe try my best at installing one. I have tork wrenchs and would like to focus on fuel economy stats with this mod. Sound interesting. Like always, thank you very much Dave for your kindness. Best of Sundays today here. 25 degrees centigrade and sunny. I will go to the lawnmower now and wash the Caliber after. 73s ! Hello mate , there is a considerably larger amount of cargo space/ rear leg room in the patriot than the Caliber. The seats are bigger & way more comfortable than the Caliber & a lot less blind spots . You wont get a diesel in USA but you have a good choice of 2litre 4x2 ( same as Caliber) or a 2.4 with 5 speed manual or CVT. There is also a FD2 version with a lock down L for crawling. Its a veyr user friendly vehicle & can be reccomended. Its available with Sport trim or Limited if you want all the bells & whistles. Some guys in USA have reported rain leaks through the Roof seams , but I never had any probs . As a nice compact SUV its a winner!

Thanks for the message and all the good advice! So far the transmission problem has not reared its ugly head again. I pretty much read the mechanical posts daily, but my knowledge base isn't really good enough to contribute much to the discussions. Great way to learn though! Oh and happy birthday 5 months late!

Hi! Dave, funny you should mention the Fairmont LOL!!! I bought a new 78 Fairmont. I thought it was beautiful. It was a dark kind of red with a vinyl top. 2.3L 4 speed manual. I traded my 76 Mustang in for it. When the 80 Mustangs got released i traded the Fairmont in for one of those. I still see a Fairmont from time to time in the area i live in LOL!!! full of rust, but still running. Talk to you later.

Hi Dave!!! I might be putting a deposit down for a 2011 Mustang at the end of next month if all works out right for me. They are going to put in the 3.7L V-6 Lincoln engine for the base Mustang. So the V-6 (what i want) will have good power and get close to 30 highway mpg along with the new 6 speed automatic. I've mostly had Fords in the past too. Talk to you later.
